Use: Object Lesson
Scriptural Reference: Ephesians 2:1-10
Materials needed: $20 bill, markers (or something to damage the bill)
Lesson:
Start by holding the $20 bill in front of the students and asking, "Who would like this?" After all the students raise their hands, crumple the bill into a little ball and ask if they still want it. After the students raise their hands again, color on the bill and ask one last time if they still want the money. State that even though it is crumpled and dirty, this money is still worth exactly the same amount. Then explain that this $20 bill is to us what we are to God. Despite all our various faults and imperfections, God still loves us and wants us to be a part of the Kingdom.
Read the scripture and then begin a talk on grace and God's love.
