Youth Worker Summit

December 1-4, 2010

Location: Coronado Spring Resort, Walt Disney World, FL

Sacred Space for Youth Workers:Gathering in Hope, Rekindling the Light

Youth ministry is tough work. We all know that. We have been called to ministries that face new challenges with every generation and are influenced by the swirling currents of pop culture. However, there is something that remains constant amid those aspects of youth ministry that often seem chaotic and overwhelming: Our spirits are being renewed by God day by day.

The 2010 Youth Worker Summit, an ecumenical gathering, will bring together youth ministry leaders from judicatories and congregations across the country.  Together, we will find Sacred Space to explore our unique experiences and a unified call.  Space to rekindle Christ's light in our lives.  Space for reassurance, renewal, strength, and hope for us as we serve young people and their families in many different contexts.

You can anticipate an experience over the three days of the Summit that will include dialogue with youth ministry professionals and visionaries, worship, skill and awareness development workshops, resource sharing and networking with other leaders. Something that sets this Summit apart from others is the professional leadership development seminar led by staff of the Disney Institute. The seminar will focus on leadership development.

It may sound like a full schedule but you’ll also find plenty of time for relaxing or wandering the Magic Kingdom® Park! When you leave the Youth Worker Summit in Orlando, you will do so with a renewed spirit for the ministry to which God has called you—that’s our prayer; that’s our hope.
